Up until lately, I haven’t had much need for an office space in our home. I’ve been content with writing my blog posts on the couch while watching Netflix (thank god for laptops!) However I have been eyeing some pretty home office setups on Pinterest + started feeling like maybe the couch blogger lifestyle proooobably couldn’t last forever. So when deciding which spot in our home I was going to transform into my pretty little #girlboss headquarters, I was naturally drawn to my favorite room in the house. Our front room/living room has the largest window in the house, letting in tons of gorgeous natural light. (hello, mood booster) We were already using a desk as our “bar cart” setup (check out my post on that here to see the Before!) so I figured I could rearrange the bar area to be able to turn the desk around and set up my little office nook. It worked out perfectly! Now, there are still some items I’d like (such as this lucite desk chair…heart eyes!!!) BUT, with just piecing together items I already had, I am beyond happy with how it turned out! PS – loving how our bar area is right behind my desk now…it will make the transition from work to happy hour way too easy…cheers!
If you are a creative entrepreneur, it is SO important to have a dedicated space where you can work, brainstorm, and let those creative juices flow. Your space + decor should inspire you and feel like “you” and what you represent. Now that I have my office nook, I am realizing how much more focused + motivated I am than when I was livin’ it up on the sofa. My space is feminine + chic, with inspiring quotes to push me through. I am sure my decor will change and evolve over time, but I absolutely love how it turned out for right now!
Shop my office:
desk – family antique that I painted (so easy to fix up a desk from a yard sale or craigslist with a coat of paint!)
desk chair – was Ryan’s…until I can get the one I want, I made this chair cozy with a soft blanket and a cute throw pillow.
notebooks – Target
eyelash print – Hobby Lobby
eiffel tower wall art – I’ve had this forever, it was from Bed bath & Beyond
quote mug – Quotable
lamp – Target (similar one here)
candle – TJMaxx
artificial flowers – Homegoods
chalkboard – fun fact, this is an old cabinet door that I painted with chalkpaint and wrote the quote myself! Being crafty goes a long way 😉
Hope you all got some home decor inspo! Has anyone else styled a home office?
